Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's application for information under the Right to Information Act, 2005 is pending inordinately before the respondent authorities.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner has an equally efficacious alternative remedy in the form of an appeal under the relevant Act.

Although there is substance in the contention as to forum made by the respondents, in order to cut short the unnecessary agony of the parties, the respondents are directed to dispose of the pending application of the

petitioner under the RTI Act, 2005 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within thirty days from date. WPA 13993 of 2023 is accordingly disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
