The charge is of dealing in fake Indian Currency worth approximately Rs.2 lakh. The petitioner says that he has been falsely implicated. He has not committed any offence. He is in custody for nine months. Charge has not yet been framed. He should be granted bail on such condition as this Court may decide.

The State opposes the prayer for bail and draws our attention to the material in the case diary. Prima facie, there appears to be sufficient incriminating evidence against the petitioner. We are, therefore, not inclined to grant bail, at this stage. The application for bail is, accordingly, rejected. CRM (DB) 1718 of 2024 is dismissed.

We are told that there are sixteen witnesses as mentioned in the chargesheet. Since the petitioner is in custody Signed By :

for quite some time, we request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial as much as possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion at the earliest.
