Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner alleges that Respondent Nos.

to have commenced construction work without obtaining any permission from the Mugberia Gram Panchayat, Bhupatinagar, Purba Medinipur.

By referring to page 18 of the writ petition, it is submitted that the Sub-Divisional Officer, Contai, by a letter dated January 9, 2024, requested the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer, Bhagawanpur-II Development Block, to inquire into the allegations made by the petitioner and to take necessary action.

It is further submitted, by referring to a communication dated February 22, 2025, issued by the Pradhan of the said Gram Panchayat, that the Officer-in-Charge,

Bhupatinagar Police Station, was requested to take appropriate steps against the alleged unauthorised construction at the relevant premises.

In the aforesaid factual backdrop, I am not inclined to keep this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Mugberia Gram Panchayat to take appropriate steps in accordance with Section 23(5) of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order. WPA 13865 of 2025 stands disposed of.

Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
