The petitioner appeared in the written test, but he was not selected for the relevant post.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that though he performed better than the selected candidates in the written test, he has been unjustly denied his right to be appointed.

On behalf of the university, it has been submitted that the written test was conducted only for the purpose of screening of the candidates. There were four hundred fifty candidates, who applied for the post, out of which twenty six candidates were shortlisted for the interview and the type test. The petitioner was, however, absent in the interview. Therefore, the petitioner was not considered for the post in question. The petitioner claims, as stated in

Paragraph 7 of the writ petition, that he attended the interview. Whether the petitioner attended the interview or not is a disputed question of fact. It cannot be decided by this Court. The petitioner cannot claim his appointment solely on the basis of written test for the reasons as indicated above. Accordingly, this writ petition is not entertained and the same is accordingly dismissed.

WPA 14045 of 2023 is dismissed.
