This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner being aggrieved with the inaction of the respondent no.5, in considering his prayer for change of name. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner has indicated from the record, the copy of deed changing name of the petitioner, as well as the affidavit affirmed by him to that effect. He has also referred to an undated letter addressed to the Chairman, DPSC, through S.I., Arambagh Circle. The petitioner is aggrieved that his such request has not yet been considered by the respondent authority, in spite of the petitioner, having provided before the same, all the necessary documents. It appears that the concerned respondent authority that is the respondent no.6 is required to

consider and decide as regards the petitioner's prayer for change of name on the basis of the documents submitted by him. It appears from the record that a letter requesting proper consideration of the matter as above, dated June 19, 2019, has been communicated to the Chairman/Secretary, DPSC, Hooghly from the office of the Sub-Inspector of Schools, Arambagh Circles and Circle Project Co-ordinator, Arambagh CLRC.

Let this matter be disposed of by directing the respondent nos.8/9, to immediately consider the petitioner's prayer, as above, and decide thereupon. In doing so, the State respondents are directed to afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and pass a reasoned order, if not the prayer of the petitioner, is allowed.

The respondents, as above, are directed to comply with this order within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of copy of this order. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties, on compliance of all necessary formalities.
