1. Report by the Executive Engineer, Diamond Habour Highway Division, P.W. (Roads) Directorate dated 8th August, 2025 filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. It appears from the report that further notice under Section 10(1) of the West Bengal Highways Act, 1964 has been issued on 8th August, 2025 in respect of thirteen persons who have been found to have encroached the government land unauthorizedly. Fifteen days' time period has been stipulated for removal of the encroachment. The stipulated time period is due to expire this week.

3. The authority is directed to take prompt necessary steps in furtherance to the notice dated 7th July, 2025 and 8th August, 2025 issued under Section 10(1) of the Act.

4. Steps shall be taken to remove the unauthorized encroachers at the earliest but positively within a period of four months from that date of communication of this order

5. The writ petition stands disposed of.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
