And In Re : Ramesh Swarnakar .... petitioner Md. Safiur Rahaman ....for the petitioner Mr. Swapan Banerjee Ms. Purnima Ghosh ...... for the State Heard the learned Counsel for the parties.

We have considered the materials on record. Prayer for bail of the petitioner was rejected earlier on merits. Statement of the minor implicates the petitioner in the offence of penetrative sexual assault. Under such circumstances and in view of gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

Trial court is directed to take prompt steps for conclusion of trial at the earliest.
