Ali Ahasan ...for the Petitioners Mr. Sutanu Chakrabarti ...for the State 03-11-2025 AKG Ct. 15 Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, being the married daughter of late Sisir Kr. Roy, who was serving as a Gram Panchayat Karmi at Joyhat Gram Panchayat, Itahar Development Block, Uttar Dinajpur, seeks compassionate appointment. It is stated that the said employee died in harness on October 14, 2023.

It is further submitted that despite repeated representations made by the petitioner, her prayer has not yet been considered by the concerned respondent authority.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that initially, the wife of the deceased employee had submitted an application seeking appointment on compassionate grounds. However, the present claim is now being advanced by the married daughter of the deceased. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner clarifies

that the application submitted by the petitioner's mother will not be pressed for consideration, and only the petitioner's own application should be taken into account by the respondent authorities.

Attention of this Court has been drawn to page 33 of the writ petition, where a representation dated May 24, 2025, has been filed by the petitioner seeking compassionate appointment.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon respondent No. 4, the Block Development Officer, Itahar, and Executive Officer, to consider the petitioner's representation dated May 24, 2025, appearing at page 33 of the writ petition, and to take necessary steps in accordance with law within one month from the date of communication of this order.

WPA 13868 of 2025 stands disposed of.
