Mr. Manas Kumar Das ... for the petitioner Mr. Prabir Kumar Ray ... for the State The present writ petition has been filed for a direction on the respondent authorities to issue a new arms licence to the petitioner in terms of the application filed in 2018.

Learned counsel appearing for the State hands up an instruction, which states that the petitioner's father was already in possession of a licensed Gun and the petitioner accordingly prayed for transfer of the said licensed Gun from his father's name to his own name. The document also states that the application is now before the District Magistrate, Murshidabad, for final order.

WPA 14164 of 2022 is accordingly disposed of with a direction on the District Magistrate, Murshidabad, to dispose of the application filed by the

petitioner within a period of three weeks from date, as suggested by counsel appearing for the State. ( Moushumi Bhattacharya, J.)
