The prayer of the writ petitioners is that the original application, bearing O.A. No. 399 of 2015 (LRTT), filed by the writ petitioners before the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, has been kept pending for an inordinately long period.

We find from the order sheet, certified copies of which have been annexed in the present writ petition, that there is substance in such allegation, since the matter is being posted for hearing since long and has been adjourned on repeated occasions by the Tribunal.

In view of the innocuous nature of the relief sought to be granted, we dispense with prior service of notice on the respondents.

Accordingly, COLRT 3 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the First Bench, West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, to dispose of O.A. No. 399 of 2015 (LRTT), pending before it, as expeditiously as possible, positively within February 28, 2026. 5.

There will be no order as to costs.
