Petitioner Mr. Shibaji Kumar Das .....for the Petitioner This is an application for expeditious disposal of C.R. case no. 210 of 2018 under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 pending in the Court of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Court, Hooghly Sadar at Chinsurah.

It has been submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that the case is at the evidence stage. The complainant has been examined and the examination of the accused is pending.

In this pandemic situation, it is not expected that the learned Magistrate in the court below shall proceed with the trial at a normal pace. However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer, this revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Magistrate in the Court below to make an endeavour to conclude the trial preferably within a period of one year from the resumption of the normal functioning of the Court. Since the opposite party no. 2 will not

be prejudiced by this order, this application is disposed of without any notice upon the opposite party no. 2. Accordingly, CRR 1847 of 2021 is disposed of. All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the website of this Court.
