Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the Distribution Company has not given a new electric connection to the petitioners' flat, situated in an apartment building.

Learned counsel appearing for the Distribution Company submits that the developer of the building has already applied for an electric connection, which will be able to cater to the electricity requirements of all the residents therein.

Learned counsel for the developer, in his usual fairness, submits that the developer, that is, respondent nos.4, 5 and 6, have also sought such supply to be given at the behest of the developer at the earliest.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the Distribution Company that there is no other difficulty, apart from the matter regarding installation of a new transformer, which is necessary for giving such connection, from the appropriate authorities. In such view of the matter, there cannot be any embargo to the Distribution Company in giving such connection, subject to compliance of all formalities and upon installation of the new transformer. Accordingly, WPA No.14721 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the Distribution Company to give new connection to the apartment building-in-question on the application of the respondent nos.4, 5 and 6 within a reasonable period, positively within four weeks from date.

It is made clear that the respondent nos. 4, 5 and 6 shall cooperate in the matter of the petitioners getting electric connection to their respective flats from the said common meter.

In the event any obstruction is raised by the respondent no.7 in giving such connection, it will be

open for the Distribution Company officials to approach the respondent no.3, that is, the Officer-inCharge of the Bansdroni Police Station for adequate police assistance in that regard.

If so approached, the respondent no.3 shall give such assistance at the cost of the respondent nos.4, 5 and 6.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
