The petitioner is aggrieved by an order of termination of contract dated 8th August, 2022 issued by the respondent No.1.

The petitioner was engaged on contractual basis as a Field Assistant on 12th November, 2014. The appointment of the petitioner was coterminous with the project in question. Admittedly, the respondent No.1 was undertaking a project for cleaning up of the Tunga river in the district of Purulia.

Upon the project being completed, the petitioner's contract was discontinued simplicitor. There is no stigma attached to the termination.

In the backdrop of the above, the writ petitioner cannot claim any right of any permanent absorption or further engagement either contractual or otherwise with the respondents.

No relief can, therefore, be granted to the writ petitioner.

However, it is directed that any dues or salary payable to the writ petitioner may be released to him by the respondents upon re-verification of the documents within a period of one month from date.

Learned counsel for the respondents submit that there are no dues payable to the writ petitioner. 8.

The writ petition fails and hereby dismissed. 9.

There shall be no order as to costs.
