Ms. Ipsita Ghosh, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that despite repeated complaint being lodged by the petitioner and also by his learned advocate, the jurisdictional police authority failed to register the necessary FIR. Hence, this writ petition.

Mr. Somnath Ganguli, learned advocate appearing for the State respondent places a report dated June, 5, 2024 issued by the Sub-Inspector of Police, Officer-in-Charge, Shayampur Police Station showing that the FIR has already been registered on May 30, 2024 and a police case has already been initiated being Shayampur P. S. Case No. 190 of 2024. The report is taken on record.

In view of the above, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the police authority must take all possible steps in an expeditious manner.

Accordingly, the jurisdictional police authority shall proceed and take all further steps strictly in accordance with law in an expeditious manner. It is made clear that this order shall not create any right or equity in favour of the petitioner in any manner.

This order shall have no effect in the civil suit pending between the parties, inter se and the civil suit shall proceed on its own merit without being influenced by any observation made herein.

With the above terms and observations, this writ petition, WPA 15058 of 2024, stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
