The petitioners lodged a complaint before the Officer-in-Charge, Haroa Police Station on 24th May, 2024. Allegation of the petitioners, on the date of filing the writ petition, was that the complaint was not being considered by the police.
Thereafter, after getting knowledge of the registering of FIR by the police on 29th May, 2024 a supplementary affidavit has been filed annexing the First Information Report. Prayer has been made to direct the police to continue with the investigation. Learned advocate representing the private respondents submits that as First Information
Report has already been registered, accordingly, there is no requirement of passing any further direction upon the police.
Learned advocate representing the State respondents submits that on registering the First Information Report, the police has already started the investigation and the same is in progress. Upon hearing the submissions made on behalf of the parties and upon perusal of the materials on record, it appears that the complaint made by the petitioners has been treated as FIR and the police is already investigating the same.
The police is, accordingly, directed to continue and conclude the investigation strictly in accordance with law at the earliest.
The police shall ensure that there is no harm cause to the life and property of either the petitioners or the private respondents.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
