The member Hasina Khatun Bibi is present in Court and is identified by her learned advocate. She submits that she has put her signature in the no confidence motion voluntarily and without any force, misrepresentation or coercion from any other person. She was called by the Pradhan at the Panchayat Office and made to put her signature in a blank paper. She is not aware of the contents which were written subsequently.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that Hasina Khatun Bibi signed the no confidence motion on her own accord and the subsequent letter allegedly written by her to the Pradhan on June 22, 2026 is a forged and manufactured document which is denied and disputed by the said member.

The requisition notice was received by the Prescribed Authority on June 16, 2026 and notice of meeting was

issued in terms of Section 12(3) of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, the notice being legal and valid. This Court, therefore, concludes that the writ petition is devoid of any merit and is accordingly dismissed.

Since the date of the meeting is fixed on July 03, 2026, the Inspector in Charge, Domkol Police Station is directed to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority and Block Development Officer, Domkol Block so that the meeting is held peacefully and without any disturbance from any corner whatsoever.

A copy of this order be communicated to the Inspector in Charge, Domkol Police Station by the private respondent at the earliest.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. All parties are directed to act upon the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
