In re : Imran Shekh, ... Petitioner Mr. Debasis Kar, ... for the petitioner Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty learned advocate, has been requested to appear in this matter on behalf of the State. Let the appointment of Mr. Chakraborty be regularised. This is an application for expeditious hearing of the case being N-14 of 2019 under Section 21 of the N.D.P.S. Act, pending before the learned Judge, Special Court under the NDPS Act, at Barrackpore, North 24-Parganas.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that, out of six witnesses, two witnesses have been examined so far, and the remaining witnesses are all police personnel.

In this pandemic situation, it is not expected that the learned Judge in the Court below shall proceed with the trial at a normal pace.

However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer, this application is disposed of with a direction upon the

learned Judge, Special Court under the NDPS Act, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas, to make an endeavour to expedite the trial and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. The revisional application being C.R.R. 1868 of 2021 is, thus, disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the petitioner upon compliance with all necessary formalities.
