The petitioners are senior citizens husband and wife. They have grievance against the respondent nos. 6 and 7, the son and daughter-in-law of the petitioners.

Mr. Sarthak Burman, learned advocate appears for the petitioners. Mr. Saikat Chatterjee, learned advocate appears for the respondent nos. 6 and 7. Mr. Jayanta Samanta, learned advocate appears for the State respondents.

Considering the case made out in the writ petition and the provisions laid down under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, the respondent no. 2 shall call a meeting of the petitioners and the respondent nos. 6 and 7 and shall make all endeavor and efforts to resolve the issue by passing a reasoned order strictly in accordance with law.

While considering the issue, the respondent no. 2 shall bear in mind the provisions laid down under the said 2007 Act.

The petitioners shall serve a copy of complete set of writ petition upon the respondent no. 2.

After receiving a copy of the writ petition, the respondent no. 2 shall issue notice upon the petitioners and the respondent nos. 6 and 7 intimating the date, time and venue for the meeting and shall hold the meeting.

The exercise as directed above shall be carried out and completed by the respondent no. 2 within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order along with a complete set of writ petition as directed above.

Since affidavits are not called for, the allegations made in this writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents. With the above observations and directions, this writ petition being WPA 15171 of 2024 stands disposed of without any order as to costs.
