Sahjahan Ali .....For the Petitioner Mr. Anirban Roy Mr. Raja Saha Mr. Biswabrata Basu Mallick .....For the State The petitioner claims to be the President of Seulipur Sarbojonin Durgautsab Committee who has sought for permission to organize Durga Puja on their land. It is submitted that since, 2009 petitioner made application before the authority for permission to organize Durga Puja, but no permission was granted but, Puja used to be organized within the club premises since 2009. The petitioner is seeking requisite permission for organizing Durga Puja and that they undertake to obtain permission from authorities like Director General, West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services and Station Manager Bhagwanpur Electricity Supply. The petitioner applied for permission before the various authorities and to the District Magistrate in view of the resolution dated July 12, 2021. But, it is pointed out that since no permission as yet has been given, the

petitioner is compelled to invoke the writ jurisdiction of this Hon'ble Court.

Mr. Raja Saha, learned counsel appearing for the State submits that the method of applying for permission to organize Puja is now totally changed as one can apply for permission online. Upon hearing Mr. K. C. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Raja Saha, learned counsel for the State and having regard to the contention made on behalf of them, the petitioner is at liberty to apply online for the permission to organize Puja at their premises, that obviously has to be, on fulfillment of the terms and conditions mentioned in the online directives for applying Puja permission.

Therefore, the petitioner is at liberty to apply for Puja permission online and on receipt of online application for such permission, the respondent authorities would attend to the same within a week and dispose of the application online considering all the legal paraphernalia.

With the above direction, the writ application being, W.P.A. 14835 of 2021 is disposed of.
