The petitioner alleges inaction on the part of the Officer-in-Charge of Dholahat police station.

It is contended that a complaint had been lodged before the said police authority with regard to the torture inflicted by the respondent nos. 4 and 5 and the continuous pressure exerted by the said respondents to transfer the properties belonging to the petitioner, in favour of the respondent no.4. The police authorities have failed and neglected to take steps.

Mr. Ahmed, learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the State respondents, specifically submits on instruction that the police authorities tried to investigate into the matter and interrogated the petitioner. At that juncture, the petitioner requested the police authorities not to take any harsh action against the respondent nos. 4 and 5.

This Court does not find that there has been any inaction on the part of the police authority. However, the police authority shall keep a vigil in order to ensure that peace is maintained and the petitioner is safe. The writ petition being W.P.A. 14339 of 2022 is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs. This order shall not be construed as an acceptance of the allegations made by the petitioner against the respondents Nos. 4 and 5.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
