Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be kept with the records.

The petitioners seek appointment as Anganwadi Helper/Anganwadi Workers under the Home quota in the Hingalganj Block.

Submission is that an enquiry was conducted by the District Programme Officer, North 24 Parganas way back in 2015 but till date the fate of the inquiry has not been made known to the petitioners. No appointment letter has also been issued in favour of the petitioners.

It has been submitted that similarly placed candidates in the Deganga and Panihati Blocks have been provided appointment recently.

A representation made by the petitioners before the Director of Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal and the Block Development Officer, Hingalganj Block is pending consideration.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents submits, upon instruction that, the representation ought to have been made before the Joint Secretary, Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal and Director ICDS, Government of West Bengal. 7.

It appears that the petitioners have approached Court nearly ten years after the alleged inquiry took place. The Court has not been made aware of any development by the State respondents after the inquiry.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by granting leave to the petitioners to apply before the aforesaid authorities disclosing details and facts of their respective cases.

In the event a representation is made by the petitioners, the same shall be considered by the aforesaid authorities strictly in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of submission of the representation.

10. The fate of the representation shall be made known to the petitioners immediately thereafter.

11. The writ petition stands disposed of.

12. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
