The petitioner says that he is in custody for one year. He is not involved in any penetrative assault. It is anybody's guess when the trial would conclude. He prays for bail. We have seen the statement of the victim girl who was only nine years old at the time of the alleged incident. The statement prima facie implicates the petitioner. In view of the prima facie incriminating material against the petitioner and the nature of the alleged offence, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage.

However, since the petitioner has been in custody for quite some time, we request the learned trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion as soon as the business of the court may permit and preferably, within a period of six months from the next date of hearing.

The application for bail being CRM 6175 of 2021 is, thus, dismissed.
