Petitioner and the private respondents are in a strained relationship and over the said issue number of cases have been registered before the Udaynarayanpur Police Station. Petitioner submits that she is still being threatened by the private respondents inspite of the criminal case pending and the police authorities being informed did not take any action.

Learned advocate appearing for the private respondents on the other hand submit that they have also been subjected to assault and the petitioner has approached this Court for pressurizing the police authorities.

State has submitted a report of the Officer-inCharge, Udaynarayanpur Police Station. The stage at which the report was received, investigation of the said

cases were in progress and the investigating officer recorded the statement of the witnesses as also collected the injury reports concerned.

I find that more than 10 months have passed since the police authorities registered the case. Having considered that the investigation of the case is in progress, if either of the parties approaches the learned Magistrate under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018 and the learned Magistrate after receipt of the Threat Perception Report is of the opinion that appropriate protection must be extended to any of the parties concerned, specific directions be passed upon the police authorities to take steps in accordance with the Scheme. With the aforesaid observations WPA 15297 of 2024 is disposed of.

Report so submitted by the State be kept with the record.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
