He prays for bail. It is further submitted there is no direct evidence connecting the petitioner with the murder of the deceased.

Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail and submits the petitioner was present in the house when the victim was strangulated and thrown into the pond. We have considered materials on record. There are prima facie materials connecting the petitioner with the alleged crime.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances and the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to extend the petitioner on bail at this stage.
