The petitioner has retired as a lecturer from Ramakrishna Mission Shilpa Mandi, Belur Math on August 31, 2000.

The petitioner contends that his basic pension should be re-fixed at Rs. 23200/- per month w.e.f. January 1, 2006. He is also entitled to arrear pension accordingly.

He made a representation before the Director of Technical Education, Government of West Bengal. After the said representation was made, the Director of Technical Education sought a report from the college. The college time to time filed reports as desired by the said director. Lastly, the college provided the necessary particulars by a letter dated June 14, 2017, to the said Director.

The grievance of the petitioner is that thereafter,

no response was made by the Director of Technical Education & Training.

In that view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Director of Technical Education & Training/respondent no.3 to take a decision with regard to the re-fixation of pension of the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order.

The Director of Technical Education & Training will hear the petitioner before taking such decision. The decision shall be communicated to the petitioner within one week.

Accordingly, W.P.A 14424 of 2022 is disposed of. Let urgent certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with all the necessary formalities.
