Commercial quantity of Phensedyl Syrup was allegedly recovered from the possession of the petitioner. He, however, says that charge-sheet was submitted without obtaining FSL Report. He is in custody for about nine months. He prays for bail.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer. He says that supplementary charge-sheet can always be filed upon receipt of FSL Report. There is sufficient incriminating evidence against the petitioner.

Having considered the facts and circumstances of the case and the material in the case diary and in view of commercial quantity of contraband item being involved, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage. CRM (NDPS) 917 of 2024 is dismissed.

However, we direct the Investigating Officer to obtain the CFSL Report within the next two weeks and then take necessary consequential steps in accordance with law expeditiously so that the trial may come to an early conclusion. We also direct the Director of Central Forensic Science Laboratory to ensure that the report is made available to the Investigating Officer within two weeks from date.
