Petitioner(s) Mr. Sandip Chakraborty Mr. Kaustav Das ... for the Petitioner(s) Ms. Faria Hussain Mr. Kunal Ganguly ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that unnecessarily the petitioner is languishing in jail for one year and four months and there has been no progress in the trial of the case.

On the other hand, learned advocate for the State, submits that 280 gm of heroine were recovered; charges have already been framed and the prosecution is to commence evidence from the next date so fixed. Having regard to the stage of the case, I am not inclined to enlarge the accused on bail as commercial quantity of contraband was seized.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, State would take all steps to expedite the progress of the trial to ensure appearance of the witnesses on the scheduled so fixed by the learned Special Court. Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 812 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
