The petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was rejected earlier by a Co-ordinate Bench on January 18, 2024 in CRM (DB) 4497 of 2023.

The charge is under the Foreigners Act. It appears that the birth certificate that the petitioner relies on has been found to be not genuine. On that ground his earlier bail application was rejected. Since then nothing has changed. Therefore, we are not inclined to allow this application.

CRM (DB) 1778 of 2024 is dismissed.

However, the petitioner says that he is in custody for 319 days. We request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion at the earliest.
