It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner there is slow progress in the matter since the last rejection of bail by this court. Nobody appears on behalf of the NCB.

We have considered the materials on record. Prayer for bail was rejected earlier on merits. Trial is in progress. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is thus rejected.

However, we direct the trial court to conduct the trial as expeditiously as possible and conclude the same preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. Department is directed to communicate a copy of this order to the trial court for necessary compliance.
