Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that there is no direct evidence connecting the petitioner with the alleged crime.

Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Statements of the witnesses recorded under Sections 161 and 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure prima facie disclose involvement of the petitioner in the alleged crime. His prayer for bail was rejected earlier and the matter is presently fixed for consideration of charge.

In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials and as there is progress in the matter since the last rejection of bail by this Court, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
