The order passed by the District Magistrate in February 2024 under Section 14 of the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 was to be enforced within six months. The petitioners deposited the police costs in June 2024 but the order of the District Magistrate could not be executed within the stipulated time period. The bank has sought for extension of the time period for executing the order passed by the District Magistrate. Prayer seeking extension of time is pending consideration.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the District Magistrate to take a decision on the prayer of the petitioners at the earliest, but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.
