The petitioner participated in a selection process for engagement of 'Anganwadi Helper' in terms of a notice dated 6th December, 2022 for Kanchantala Gram Panchayat under Samserganj Block, District - Murshidabad, West Bengal. The petitioner says that she was successful in the written examination held on 26th May, 2023 and as such was called for the interview. The list of candidates called for the interview appears at pages 35 and 36 and petitioner's name figured against serial no. 371. The petitioner, however, was not successful in the interview and as such her name did not figure in the list of selected candidates for engagement of 'Anganwadi Helper' direct recruit for Samserganj ICDS Project, Murshidabad. The petitioner says that for the vacancy against Kanchantala Gram Panchayat the private respondent, namely Mamtaj Khatun has been selected

against the unreserved category. The petitioner questions the selection of Mamtaj Khatun, the private respondent on the ground that she is not the resident of Kanchantala Gram Panchayat. The petitioner after participating in the selection process and on being unsuccessful cannot fall back and challenge the selection of the private respondent. The petitioner's name is also not in the waiting list which will entitle the petitioner for being given engagement on the selection of the private respondent being cancelled. In the aforesaid facts and circumstances, I do not find any merit in the writ petition and the same is accordingly dismissed.
