The petitioner is the Development Officer of LIC. Indisputably, one Ashutosh Maity is a LIC agent under the petitioner. Allegation against the petitioner and the said Ashutosh Maity as revealed from the petition of complaint is that they in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy forged the signature and other documents of the de facto complainant and opened one LIC policy in her name and the premium of the said policy is being deducted under ECS from the Bank account of the de facto complainant.

The petitioner has filed the instant revision for quashing of FIR pleading is innocence and putting entire blame upon his agent, Ashutosh Maity.

Needless to say that an act of an agent binds the principle. During prima facie the petitioner cannot claim his innocence at this stage of investigation.

In view of such circumstances, I do not find any merit in the instant revision and accordingly it is summarily dismissed. (Bibek Chaudhuri, J.) Srimanta, A.R.(Ct.) Item No. 216.
