Petitioner claims to be the President of the Managing Committee of Olive Academy, a college for B.Ed. Training. It is the case of the petitioner that several representations were made before the vicechancellor of West Bengal University of Teacher's Training Education Planning and Administration, Kolkata for renewal of the affiliation of the college by the Chairperson of Gram Bangla Education Charitable Trust which runs the said college. Despite such representations being made, no decision has yet been taken with regard to the renewal of affiliation by the University.

Amitrabrata Roy, learned advocate representing the University submits that due to some internal disputes between the trustees, the University could not take a decision.

I am of the view that the issue with regard to renewal of affiliation should be decided expeditiously by the University. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Vice-chancellor of West Bengal University of Teacher's Training Education Planning and Administration, Kolkata to take a decision with regard to the renewal of affiliation of the said college within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order. In taking such decision the University will hear all the concerned.

The decision so taken shall be communicated to the petitioner within one week thereafter.

With these directions and observations W.P.A 14701 of 2022 is disposed of.

Let urgent certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with all the necessary formalities.
