This writ petition is filed by the petitioner for claiming interest for the period of delay in payment of the arrear salary in terms of direction of the Commissioner of School Education, dated March 14, 2015.

Mr. Roy, learned advocate appears for the petitioner and submits that in spite of their being direction of the respondent/Commissioner of School Education, West Bengal dated May 14, 2015, thereby directing grant of post graduate scale of pay to the writ petitioner with effect from August 10, 1999, the arrear salary has been disbursed to the writ petitioner only on March 31, 2018. He says that no reason has been assigned for such delay of about three years, in payment. Therefore, he says that the petitioner shall be eligible for grant of interest on the amount of arrear salary paid to him.

Mr. Gourav Das, learned advocate has represented the State earlier, but is not present today.

Let Mr. Das be served a notice regarding pendency of this case.
