Heard the learned Advocates appearing for the parties. Petitioner is the mother-in-law of the victim housewife. It is submitted she is innocent and the principal accused i.e. husband had committed suicide in jail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. He submits housewife was tortured by her husband and in-laws including the petitioner. As a result of torture, she committed suicide with her minor child.

We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show petitioner tortured the housewife. Unable to bear torture, she committed suicide along with her minor child. In view of the nature of offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
