The petitioners claim to be the persons living in the Nowda Block of district Murshidabad under the Raipur Gram Panchayat. The petitioners are aggrieved by the action of the Pradhan of the concerned Gram Panchayat in not granting them engagement as Vector Control Workers. It is contended that although the petitioners were trained for the said job, the authorities have engaged untrained persons.

Mr. Mondal, learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the Panchayat authorities, submits that 48 persons, who have undergone training as the Vector Control Workers, have been engaged for the purpose and they have already started their work. There is no scope for engagement of further persons.

Having heard the rival contentions of the parties, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Block Development Officer, Nowda Block to dispose of the representation of the petitioners dated September 6, 2021 in accordance with law. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioners within a period of 10 weeks from the date of communication of this order. This Court has not gone into the merits of the claims of the petitioners and the entire issue shall be decided by the concerned Block Development Officer.

The server copy of this order along with the representation be forwarded to the concerned Block Development Officer for compliance of this order. This writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
