Mr. Basabjit Banerjee ...for the respondents The present writ application has been filed, inter alia, praying for a direction upon the respondents to allow the petitioner to participate in the selection process along with other sponsored candidates which is scheduled to be held on 3rd July 2009 for the post of Group-D (Peon) in the Regional Office of Union Bank of India at Sachin Sourav Apartment, Ground Floor, Ashutosh Mukherjee Road, College para, Siliguri, District-Darjeeling.

By order dated 30th June 2009, this Court directed the petitioner to appear in the interview. However, it was, however, made clear that the petitioner shall not be appointed without the leave of Court.

Mr. Banerjee, learned advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner did not succeed in the interview. The entire selection process has long been completed and the aforesaid writ application has become infructuous.

Records would reveal that subsequent to 7th July 2009, the petitioner had not taken any steps in the matter. In my view, nothing survives in the present writ application and as such, the writ application being WPA 12563 of 2009 is dismissed.
