The grievance of the petitioner is that his name was published in the website of the Commission as a validly nominated candidate, but on all a sudden his name has disappeared from the said list.

The petitioner submits that he is not aware as to why his name has been removed from the list of eligible candidates for contesting the Panchayat General Election, 2023.

It appears from the submission made on behalf of the petitioner and the documents annexed to the writ petition that the petitioner has not filed any objection before the Election Commission highlighting his grievances and has directly approached this Court for relief.

The date for scrutiny of nominations and for withdrawal of nominations is over.

At this stage, without proper instruction from the Election Commission, it is not possible to ascertain as to why the candidature of the petitioner stood rejected. In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. It will, however, be open for the petitioner to seek remedy before the appropriate forum in accordance with law, if so advised.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
