Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite the petitioner having asked for a new electricity connection, the WBSEDCL has not yet given such connection.

Learned counsel for the WBSEDCL places reliance on Annexure-P2 at page-11 of the writ petition, which is a letter written by the petitioner to the Station Manager, WBSEDCL asking for an electricity connection. It is submitted that since the petitioner has not filed any application for a new connection in proper format, annexing necessary documents, the same could not be given to the petitioner.

In such situation, it is justifiable that the WBSEDCL could not give electricity connection to the petitioner as yet.

Accordingly, WPA 15443 of 2021 is disposed of by granting petitioner liberty to make a proper and formal application for getting electricity connection and upon compliance of all formalities by the petitioner, the WBSEDCL, if otherwise feasible, shall give such connection to the petitioner as expeditiously thereafter as possible.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
