Learned counsel for the respondent no.1, at the outset, points out that the name of the Additional Solicitor General be deleted from the array of respondents.

There is substance in such contention, since the impleadment of the Union of India through the Registrar of Law and Justice would suffice and the said respondent is represented through counsel.

The necessary consequential amendment to the cause title of the writ petition deleting the name of the Additional Solicitor General shall be carried out by the learned advocate-on-record for the petitioner during the course of the day.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner has sought before the Chief Election Commissioner, respondent no.2, de-recognition of a particular political party on the grounds as raised in the representations made by the petitioner, some of which representations are annexed to the present writ petition.

Learned counsel appearing for the Chief Election Commission submits that the said authority shall decide on the said representations within a period of three weeks from date.

In view of such fair submission, the pendency of the writ petition need not be prolonged further.

WPA 14585 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the Chief Election Commissioner of India, respondent no.2, to decide on the representations of the petitioner, annexed to the present writ petition, as expeditiously as possible, positively within three weeks from date in accordance with law and, immediately thereafter, to intimate the outcome of such consideration to the petitioner in writing. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
