The petitioner prays before this Court that several F.I.Rs which have been lodged against the petitioner in different police stations by different persons, must be clubbed together and be investigated jointly as the nature of complaints and the alleged incidents are similar. Mr. Sen, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the State respondents, has submitted two orders issued by the Superintendent of Police, Sundarban Police District dated April 11, 2022 and June 14, 2022, which indicate that there is already a decision of the concerned Superintendent of Police to constitute a team for conducting the investigation, hold the raids, seizure, arrest etc. in relation to the cases which are
pending against the petitioner as mentioned in the writ petition before several police stations. Many other similar F.I.Rs which have been lodged in several police stations under the Sundarban Police District have been clubbed together. The said team has been directed to work directly under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Kakdwip. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Kakdwip has been directed to monitor the investigation closely and to give the feedback to the Superintendent of Police. The team comprised of the Officer-in-Charge, Frezerganj Coastal police station, Officer-in-Charge, Namkhana police station, Sub-Inspector of Police, Kulpi police station and SubInspector of Police, Cyber Crime police station.
By subsequent order dated June 14, 2022, issued by the Superintendant of Police, Sundarban Police District, the said team has been substituted by the Sub-Inspectors of Police of Harwood Point Coastal police station, Kulpi police station, Pathar Pratima police station, Namkhana police station, Sagar police station, Cyber Crime police station and Kakdwip police station.
Under such circumstances, this Court is of the view that grievance of the petitioner has been met and a team has been constituted to investigate into all the F.I.Rs which have been registered against the petitioner and have been clubbed together.
The orders issued by the Superintendent of Police are taken on record.
The writ petition being W.P.A. 14821 of 2022 is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs. All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
