The petitioner's prayer for bail was rejected on several occasions by Co-ordinate Benches. Lastly, his prayer was rejected on November 25, 2022.

The charge is under Sections 325/326/307/302/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioner says that he has been in custody for about 740 days. He has not been able to defend the case properly. There is nobody to look after his family. He submits that he should be enlarged on bail on any condition as this Court may deem fit and proper.

We have perused the material in the case diary. Prima facie, the material on record implicates the petitioner. Considering the

nature and gravity of the offence and the possible extent of complicity of the petitioner therein, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer, at this stage.

However, considering that the petitioner has been in custody for a long time, we direct the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial as much as possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion at the earliest and preferably within a year from the date of communication of this order.

The application for bail is, accordingly, rejected. CRM (DB) 2496 of 2023 is dismissed.
