In the matter of : Sri Arup Chakraborty & Ors. ..... petitioners Mr. Avik Ghatak Mr. Saibal Krishna Dasgupta .....For the petitioners Mr. Pratick Bose ......For the State The petitioners seek an expeditious disposal of a proceeding being ACGR No. 7283 of 2012, under Sections 498A/406/323 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, read with Sections 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 7th Court at Alipore, South 24-Parganas. Mr. Pratick Bose, learned advocate, who generally appears for the State, is requested to appear in this matter. Let his appointment be regularized.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioners, that a decree of divorce between the parties has already been passed on December 23, 2016.

It has further been pointed out that out of six witnesses, only three witnesses have been examined so far.

It appears that the case is pending for a long period of time. In view of that, this revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Magistrate in the Court below to make an endeavour to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably, within a period of one year from date after the

resumption of the normal functioning of the Court. The learned Magistrate in the Court below will prepone the next date of hearing, which is fixed on January 17, 2022.

The revisional application being CRR 1942 of 2021, is disposed of.

Since the opposite party no. 2 will not be prejudiced by this order, this application is disposed of without serving any notice to her.
