It is submitted that the petitioner had applied for permission to observe Eid-Uz-Zoha, which is going to take place on June 29, 2023.

However, the respondent-authorities are sitting tight over the matter.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondentauthorities submits that since the issue is a bit sensitive, touching religious sentiments, the authorities are requiring some time to take a decision on the representation of the petitioner. That apart, in view of the current Panchayat elections, all resources of the respondent-authorities are engaged in the election process.

Be that as it may, since the petitioner cannot wait indefinitely for a decision on their representation, keeping in view the impending date of the Eid-UzZoha, WPA No. 14625 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2 to decide on the representation given by the petitioner, annexed at page-15 (Annexure - P2) to the present writ petition, as expeditiously as possible, positively by June 26, 2023, and to intimate immediately thereafter the decision so taken to the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
