The petitioners seek limited relief against coercive steps in respect of FIR No.139/23 dated 14th June, 2023 registered by the Mathurapur Police Station. Two of the writ petitioners are contesting in the forthcoming Panchayat Election and the others are the supporters and campaigners.

Learned counsel for the State has produced a report in the form of instructions dated 22nd June, 2023 issued by the Officer-in-Charge, Mathurapur Police Station addressed to the learned Government Pleader and the same is taken on record.

Let no coercive steps be taken against the writ petitioners in respect of the subject FIR or any other FIR until 15th July, 2023. It is made absolutely clear that the investigation may go on.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

6.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
