Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is in custody for more than 2 years and prays for bail.

Opposing the prayer, learned counsel for the State submits that out of 9 witnesses 3 have been examined and examination of the 4th witness is in progress. I have considered the material on record. The petitioner appears to be a drug addict. He inflicted injuries on the left side of the neck of the victim.

Considering the material on record and prima facie role of the petitioner in the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
