Petitioner Ms. Malashree Ghosh, ... for the petitioner The petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of the criminal case being No. N-248/2019 under Section 21(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, pending before the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, 6th Special Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the charge in this case has been framed on September 29, 2021 and the next date for evidence has been fixed on 31st January, 2022.

I do not see that there has been any delay in proceeding with the trial, particularly in the present pandemic situation. Keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer, this application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, 6th Special Court, Basrasat, North 24 Parganas, to make an endeavour to expedite

the trial and conclude the same, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. The revisional application being C.R.R. 1950 of 2021 is, thus, disposed of.
