For the State The petitioner intended to participate in the recruitment process pursuant to the notification dated 31st May, published by the Kaliyaganj Municipality.

Primary contention of the petitioner is that the said notification was not given wide publicity and accordingly, the intending candidates could not apply for the job.

Learned advocate representing the municipality submits that the petitioner does not possess the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the impugned notification as she falls short of the required age. The petitioner being a Scheduled Caste category candidate the minimum age limit for participation in the recruitment process is thirty-five years. The petitioner

has annexed the admit card issued in her favour by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education where her date of birth is mentioned.

It appears that she was yet to attain the age of thirty-five years on 1st January, 2022, the cut off date fixed for assessing the age limit of a candidate. As it appears that the petitioner is not eligible for participation in the recruitment process, accordingly, there is no requirement for proceeding with the writ petition any further.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on completion of usual formalities.
