Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is in custody for about 2 years and prays for bail.

Learned counsels for the State and de facto complainant oppose the prayer.

I have considered the material on record. The petitioner has been named as one of the assailants by the eye witness to the incident. 4 out of 17 prosecution witnesses have already been examined in the last six months. Progress in trial is satisfactory.

Considering the material on record prima facie indicating involvement of the petitioner in the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
